Elysia: A World Reshapen

From Elysia MC
(Redirected from Elysia: A World Reborn)

Elysia: A World Reshapen, coloquially the Elysia Modpack or simply Elysia (although this is erroneous as it is the name of the Map), is a modpack for Minecraft: Java Edition 1.12.2 built on the Forge API. It is made by ZeBoss07.
Despite the name similarities and usage of, Elysia: A World Reshapen and Elysia MC are unrelated.

Requirements and notes[edit | hide | edit source]

System Requirements
Minimum Recommended
CPU Intel® Core™ i3-2100 Intel® Core™ i7-1165G7
Graphics card Intel® HD Graphics 2000 Intel® Iris® Xe
Allocated memory 4 GB 8 GB
Storage 250 MB HDD 250 MB SSD
Operating system Windows XP (64-bit)
macOS 10.6 Snow Leopard
64-bit Linux with kernel 2.4.26
Windows 10 (64-bit)
macOS Ventura 13.2.1
64-bit Linux with kernel 5.15

The recommended specs have been given out by the official modpack developer. The minimum specs are a rounded version of the worst recorded specs that could still run Elysia: A World Reshapen.
Elysia: A World Reshapen needs a 64-bit machine due to the limitations of a 32-bit machine not being able to access more than 4 GB of RAM. Do not allocate more than 16 GB of RAM to minimise the risk of memory leaks. Please note that allocated memory is not total system memory!
In addition to the 250 MB required by Elysia to store the mods, you will need an additional 1 GB (minimum) 4 GB (recommended) of storage for Minecraft and 18 GB of storage for CurseForge. For best performance, you should run Minecraft and Elysia: A World Reshapen on an M.2 SSD.

It is advised you install Optifine for increased performance.

Running Elysia on an iGPU[edit | hide | edit source]

If you run your graphics on a low-end Intel or AMD iGPU (i.e, Intel UHD or integrated Radeon graphics, but not Iris Xe or Radeon Vega), you should assign RAM in a way you will have a certain amount of RAM left. Below is the amount of RAM you should leave avaliable (not assign).

  • Windows 11 - 4.5 GB
  • Windows 10 - 3 GB
  • Windows 7 or older - 2.5 GB
  • macOS - 50% of installed RAM
  • KDE or GNOME - 2.5 GB
  • MATE, Xfce, or LXQt - 1.5 GB

Leave more available if you want apps such as your browser or Discord open and to run smoothly.

The reasoning for this is that Intel and AMD iGPUs do not use dedicated VRAM like more traditional graphics cards, but instead use the installed regular memory to store textures, models, etc.
As Minecraft, and Elysia, use a lot of textures, using too much RAM for logic will not leave enough for graphics, leading to low framerates and generally a bad experience.

AMD machines can have a certain amount of general RAM be reserved for the iGPU in the BIOS, so you will not need to do this if you have already allocated at least 1 GB of VRAM to it.

Running Elysia on Linux[edit | hide | edit source]

If you are using a Linux desktop or laptop machine, then unfortunately you will not be able to use CurseForge natively.

You can attempt to run CurseForge with Wine or you can use another launcher such as Prism Launcher or GDLauncher.

Wayland[edit | hide | edit source]

If you have a dedicated NVIDIA graphics card and use the Wayland compositor, then you will have to switch back to X11. This is because NVIDIA drivers do not properly support Wayland and so Java will attempt to use the integrated graphics, causing division by zero errors.

Java version[edit | hide | edit source]

The Open JDK (as provided by system package repositories) has been reported to cause segmentation faults. Use the official JRE from Oracle.
