New Ruhr (German: Neues Ruhr /nˈɔʏˌəs ʁuːɐ̯/ noy-is rhoo-a) is a province in Novaterra. It is notable for being the primary industrial region, as well as possible the most polluted area on Elysia MC.

New Ruhr is settled on a series of forested swamp islands in the centre of the Dark Sea. It is situated north of New Amsterdam.
The swamp region naturally has lots of trees, but as of recent the forest cover has been reduced significantly to make room for machinery. Smaller plantlife like ferns and flowers have also grown in the recent few weeks due to carbon and sulphur pollution.
Cobblestone and hempcrete platforms have been constructed to make a better environment for machinery. This makes the ground particularly mob-infested due to low light levels.

New Ruhr was discovered when the construction of the NSR Line 1 began.
Originally, plans were made to have it as a spacecraft launch station, but was re-designated afterwards for a general industrial space.
It was formally established as a province of Novaterra on 21/09/2022 under a charter.
On 03/10/2022, the construction of train track manufacturing was put on hold temporary to focus on the war effort for World War One.
